Plum Tuckered

A long day.

A walk before night-night.

Allen Hill, Ladies and Gentlemen, Allen Hill... (a kooky, fun oldies band that plays every year at SXSW)

The Allen Hill show always starts with him riding in on his "Oldies Truck".

Don't worry, we didn't let her drink any beer (of course), we just thought it was cute that she was reaching for the bottle.

Piper had an exciting day today. First, we met some other babies and mamas for a play date. There were about ten babies (with their mamas) in a little tiny space. Piper seemed stunned for the first 10 minutes or so before she finally decided that it was just too much stimulation and let out a tremendous scream. She eventually calmed down, until another baby came over, gave me a hug, and sat on my lap. Piper felt that this also warranted some screaming. Eventually the crowd thinned out a little and we were both able to relax and have a little fun.

After our play date we stopped by a church in our neighborhood to reserve a spot for Piper at their Mother's Day Out program. She will go one day a week, from 9 until 2. I suspect that initially it's going to be difficult adjustment for both of us.

Starting tomorrow and continuing for a little over a week, I will be watching a friend's 3-month old baby. I met him today, and he's very cute and seems to be a pretty easy going little guy. We'll see how I do with 2 of them. Wish me luck.
